Casual for a Cause

Each year we ask the staff of Heritage Valley FCU to nominate their favorite local charities, and each year we get about 10-15 wonderful non-profit organizations that are nominated – we are very passionate about helping our community here at HVFCU.

We take that list and put it to a final vote, and the top four charities are the recipients of the year’s Casual for a Cause program.

Employees generously donate to these causes throughout the year. At the end of each quarter, we tally up what we raised so far, and Heritage Valley FCU matches that amount for the non-profit.

Our first quarter cause for 2023 is Building Bridges for Brianna.

Building Bridges for Brianna

Located in Dallastown, Building Bridges for Brianna was founded by Matt Dorgan after the tragic loss of his daughter.

The purpose of the organization is to promote suicide awareness and prevention, fund suicide awareness and prevention programs, support those in need dealing with mental health, and family support programs for families who have members dealing with mental health issues.

Visit their website to learn more about Brianna’s story, find a support group, and many other resources.
