Casual for a Cause: York County C.A.R.E

York County C.A.R.E. (Child Abduction Response Effort)

York County’s C.A.R.E. Team and CART (Child Abduction Response Team) / York County’s Missing Child Task Force Team respond to missing, endangered, and abducted children incidents. Their mission is to enhance the safe recovery of abducted or missing and endangered children in York County by assisting local law enforcement agencies through a multi-disciplinary team of specially trained professionals in the area of investigating and finding missing children; to provide the families of missing children with support and resources; and reducing the risk of incidence through education, prevention and community outreach. The team is made up of 46 members from 20 agencies. READ MORE

The donation will assist the CARE Team in continuing its efforts as a non-profit group whose members assemble when a child is abducted, an autistic child is lost, or a person with dementia wanders. The team’s robust roster features members of York County, municipal, state, and federal law enforcement, York County 911 and OEM, search and rescue, and psychological and social services.

Casual for a Cause

Each year we ask our staff to nominate their favorite local charities and non-profits for our Casual for a Cause program, and we get over a dozen nominations for many amazing organizations. We take those nominations and ask the staff to vote on their top four choices. The four with the most votes become that year’s Casual for Cause charities.

Employees make donations throughout the month – in exchange for dressing casually in the workplace. Each quarter we total the donations from the past three months, Heritage Valley matches the total amount, and we present the check to the deserving organization.
